P

Pallet: Kind of tray or wooden platform, with holes for fitting of forklift forks, on which the load is placed, fastened and transported to its destination.

Payload: Useful load capacity, the commercial capacity of a ship, airship, cellar or of a container.

Perishable: Easily degenerative.

Pick-up: Term used to define the receipt of one or more containers by the shipowner of the leasing company after the signing of the lease contract. Collection.

POD: Proof of delivery, it is the information furnished by the transporter that contains the name of the person who signed the receipt of the material, the date and time of the delivery and other data related to a certain shipment.

POL: Proof of loading.

Pro Forma: Document prepared by the agent containing an estimate of diverse costs that the shipowner will face upon the stop of his ship at the port and sent to him for studies. Any other estimative and provisory document and not being the definitive one.

Purchase: Acquisition of a product or the product acquired.
