GLOSSARY
V
Variability: It refers to uncertainties
in the supply chain. Its reduction improves visibility. A form
of reducing the variability, for example, is to send data from
a store's counter directly to the supplier, in real time.
Voyage: Voyage (of long course),
going and/or coming from a ship to its port or ports of destination.
Each travel of the ship implies the transport of one or many loads,
depending on the type of operation of the same, however this may
eventually cover a stretch of an empty travel (in ballast) until
its port of loading, in the case of freightage per time, something
not desirable to the freighter.
