Said To Contain: Expression inserted in a Bill of Landing of Shipment to mean that the transporter does not know the content of the packaging of volumes received on board.

Sample: Part or piece representing a series or batch.

Shipper: The one responsible for the shipment of the commodity by means of transport, in the majority of the cases it being the exporter himself and who has contracted the transport before the shipowner.

SSCC - Serial Shipping Container Code: Serial code for containers, it is a code of 14 or 18 characters for individual transport packagings, such as boxes, pallets, containers, etc. This code is a single digit number valid worldwide to identify a certain packaging.

SSCC-14 - Serialized Shipping Container code 14: Serialized code for shipment containers, according to the UCC/EAN 14 format, for use on transport boxes.

SSCC-18 - Serialized Shipping Container code 18: Serialized code for shipment containers, according to the UCC/EAN 128 format, for use in logistics to identify pallets, special boxes and containers.

Stowage: Stowing - the act, manner or process of placing and arranging the load on board. The cost of such service is paid by the shipowner or freighter.
